It was fun to play "Grandma." Such a sweet baby!!

                                                         TRIP TO RALEIGH TEMPLE
We had a wonderful day on Valentine's Day. We started with a session at the temple with other senior couples. We gathered at the church next to it afterwards for a potluck lunch.

We drove up to visit Christina Lay and David Come after the luncheon. David has been in the hospital almost 4 weeks after getting pneumonia. Christina said she sleeps right in the bed with him at night. She is never far from him. She told us that her pregnancy, delivery and the first 2 months of his life were normal. He came down with the chicken pox at 2 months of age. He developed a serious infection that settled in his lungs and spread into his brain. They were still living in the refugee camp in Thailand at the time, so his medical care wasn't the best. I couldn't help but wonder if they had been here in the states if the outcome would have been different.

April 24, 2015
Sister Jacobson, Sister Rushton, Sister Carlile. All of the sisters in our zone were able to attend the temple this day. We also took the sisters from Dunn. It was a wonderful session. We also enjoyed going to lunch at a little pizza place that S. Jacobson recommended. Wonderful day.

                                                                        May 2, 2015
We drove Sister Maung and Sue Reh up to visit David and Christina at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill. At this time David had been in the hospital a month.

Sue Reh with David. It melted my heart to see him with David. He stayed right by his bedside talking to him and moving him around. I can't imagine how he must miss them when David is in the hospital.

Elder Persé loved teaching us with "object lessons." The Missionaries had to find their way around until they asked for help. The lesson was about asking the Holy Ghost for help in teaching.

Pre-transfer Day: Me, E. Rushton, E. Morrell (ZL) E. Firmage (ZL) E. Smith, E. Gallagher, E. Persé, S. Jacobson & S. Carlile. (Elders Firmage and Persé were transferred)

May 24 & 25, 2015
Tyler brought the girls up for Memorial weekend. We had a grand time. On Sunday we went to Luther Britt Park, (above.) There isn't a lot to do in Lumberton so we spent time at parks, playing games, making cookies and just enjoying each other.

In front of our apartment just before they left for home.  Thanks for coming Tyler, Abigail and Lucy.

At the hospital. This is Pure Reh and Ma Meh's new baby girl, Seliece. She was a day old in this picture. Pure Reh stayed home with the other 3 children while the ambulance took Ma Meh to the hospital to have the baby alone. There is such a difference in our cultures.

Scott's and us. They did the job we were supposed to do in the office: transportation and housing. We were sure glad we didn't have to do it. They arrived about a month before us.

We took time to go see Bennett Place the same day. This was the 1st monument put up that represented both the north & the south.

In front of the visitor's center. This was the location of the biggest surrender of the Civil War.

Bentonville where the biggest battle in North Carolina was fought during the civil war.

This battle was fought on private property. The house behind me was turned into a hospital for the wounded soldiers. The family took care of the soldiers until they were either well or passed away. There was a graveyard where the soldiers that died were buried.

Monument to the battle.

Jewlery that the Burmese gave me. I didn't bring it home; so I took a picture of it.

Helen Kerns. What a sweet lady that has lived a hard life. She was hard to catch home because she still worked 2 jobs, even though she was in her 70's. We persisted, though, and were able to get to know her and love her.
