Scott's and us. They did the job we were supposed to do in the office: transportation and housing. We were sure glad we didn't have to do it. They arrived about a month before us.

We took time to go see Bennett Place the same day. This was the 1st monument put up that represented both the north & the south.

In front of the visitor's center. This was the location of the biggest surrender of the Civil War.

Bentonville where the biggest battle in North Carolina was fought during the civil war.

This battle was fought on private property. The house behind me was turned into a hospital for the wounded soldiers. The family took care of the soldiers until they were either well or passed away. There was a graveyard where the soldiers that died were buried.

Monument to the battle.

Jewlery that the Burmese gave me. I didn't bring it home; so I took a picture of it.

Helen Kerns. What a sweet lady that has lived a hard life. She was hard to catch home because she still worked 2 jobs, even though she was in her 70's. We persisted, though, and were able to get to know her and love her.

So Reh & Sae Meh
March 4, 2016
This is how the Burmese feed their babies sometimes. They don't use high chairs. Sae Meh is feeding Jackson rice. She said she doesn't give him the baby food she can get with WIC because she thinks the rice is better for him.

Sae Meh has commented several times how white my legs are; so we took a picture to compare!

So Reh, Jackson Aor, Joseph So and Sae Meh. Love this family. They speak the best English of all the families. They help a lot with translation at church and Sae Meh in the Sister's Meetings.

 Learning to Sew Skirts
February 19 - 28, 2016
Esther Lay asked me if I would help she and Myo Aung make skirts. I took them to JoAnn's in Fayetteville to buy the material and patterns. When we walked in the door they both said, "WOW." They had never been in a store that big before.
This picture was while they were working on the skirts. They had to take turns at the sewing machine because we only had 1. They worked so comfortably with each other.

Finished product. They were so tickled with them.

At the park after stake conference. The ward always has a picnic after Stk. Conf.

February 7, 2016
Oo Meh and Rosy. Such a sweet young woman with a difficult life. Her husband wasn't good to her so she left him. She came here to live with her father, Ku Reh, and Tewa Lay. She ended up going back to Texas because her husband, Mya Tu, had kept their 3 year old daughter, Christina. The only way she could be with both daughters was to go back. We really encouraged her to stay in touch with the church.

February 6, 2016
Sister Skalla, Cindy, Redell, Sister Higgins.
Cindy Locklear's baptism. Redell Collins introduced her to the church. She wanted S. Skalla at her baptism bad enough that she and Redell drove down to Wilmington to pick she and her companion up and take them back after the baptism.
